Love Local

Every month we come together to Serve around North Texas. Some projects are open to families serving together, and others are limited to adults only. If your next step is serving others, join us in one of our upcoming projects listed below.

OUTREACH TEAMS | Sundays | 5pm | C136
We are creating teams of church members that want to take a hands-on role in reaching the community around us and the community where they live. Meetings held weekly.

LOVE LOCAL | OUR CALLING | Saturday | June 22 | 8am-Noon

Our Calling (OC) has been situated very uniquely by God to be a day resource center for the homeless in the Dallas area. With showers, meals, washers and dryers, and many more resources. The best thing about OC is that they feel the most important thing they can do is point people to Jesus. We will be working both inside the OC building, and on Rescue Teams that go out and locate homeless friends.

Hunger is a very real issue for too many children in our own community. Join us as we reflect the light of God’s goodness to families in our community.

FBR community garden has 24 raised garden plots, with 14 that are available for renting for growing your own produce. The other 10 plots are managed by volunteers and the harvest is given to local Richardson families in need through our hunger initiative partnerships. The garden also offers free quarterly gardening classes and has workdays on the third Saturday of the month at 9 am. For information, email

On the second Saturday of each month, our Food for Families team picks ups food from Crossroads Community Services, sorts it on church campus, and receives families struggling with hunger needs as they pick up their personalized, nutritionally balanced, food. Normally, we provide 7 days of food for every month.

Seeking to make a redemptive impact in the lives of the underprivileged, we ask you to join with us in being the face of Jesus and our church to local students.

For a 25 minute lunch a week, your time with a student can restore a child's vision of themselves.

Most of UTD International students desire to experience American culture, but never do. Help introduce students to our culture...and to Jesus.

For 1.5 hours every other week, you can join the BSM lunch. Most international students are open to discussing realities of different faiths. Get involved in 1 of 3 ways with this lunch:

  1. Table Leader: Sit at the same table with 4 or 5 of the same students. No "required" led-discussion...just conversation.
  2. Front Desk: Help Table Leaders get to the right table. Receive and greet students.
  3. Food Server: Help serve food.
