Want to serve?
We want to help you get connected through serving! Sign up for one of our serve initiatives below. If you would like more information on international missions or would like to follow one of our partner missionaries, contact Ron Evans.
Every month we come together to Serve around North Texas. Some projects are open to families serving together, and others are limited to adults only. If your next step is serving others, join us in one of our upcoming projects listed below.
CORNERSTONE MINISTRIES (ALL AGES)
Cornerstone Ministries is a powerhouse of outreach to the South East Dallas Community. Pastor Chris Simmons is constantly looking for new ways to impact the community around him. We participate in the Saturday brunch that they serve as well as the clothing and shower ministries.
OUR CALLING (ALL AGES)
Our Calling (OC) has been situated very uniquely by God to be a day resource center for homeless in the Dallas area with showers, meals, washers and dryers, and many more resources. The best thing about OC is that they feel the most important thing they can do is point people to Jesus. We work inside the OC building as well as on the Rescue Teams who go out to locate homeless friends.
METRO RELIEF BUS
Metro Relief Bus is a homeless outreach organization that specializes in deep relationships with those on the streets in an attempt to point them to Jesus and provide resources to help them get back on their feet. Volunteers help in making and distributing soup, drinks, bread and toiletry items. There is a heavy emphasis on relationship building and praying with our homeless friends. Parental discretion advised for children in elementary school.
Seeking to make a redemptive impact in the lives of the underprivileged, we ask you to join with us in being the face of Jesus and our church to our community.
NORTHRICH ELEMENTARY AND JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL LUNCH BUDDIES
For a 25 minute lunch a month, your time with a student can restore a child's vision of themselves. Most of our buddies stay for both lunch periods to encourage more than one student.
NORTHRICH BEACH CLUB
This is a weekly innovative ministry established to mobilize the Church to go outside its walls to do a Beach Club in order to take the message of Christ into the heart of our Richardson Community.
UTD FRIENDSHIP PARTNERS
Most of UTD International students desire to experience American culture, but never do. Help introduce students to our culture...and to Jesus.
UTD BSM INTERNATIONAL LUNCH
For 1.5 hours every other week, you can join the BSM lunch. Most international students are open to discussing realities of different faiths. Get involved in 1 of 3 ways with this lunch:
- Table Leader: Sit at the same table with 4 or 5 of the same students. No "required" led-discussion...just conversation.
- Front Desk: Help Table Leaders get to the right table. Receive and greet students.
- Food Server: Help serve food.
MISSION ARLINGTON (ALL AGES)
Mission Arlington was started in 1986 by former missionary Tillie Burgin after God moved her heart to reach her hometown of Arlington with the saving message of Jesus. Mission Arlington serves as a training ground where we can learn through a variety of services how to reach our community while pointing people to Jesus and creating life-long disciples. Come join us for this amazing local experience!
AUSTIN STREET SHELTER (ALL AGES)
Austin Street Center provides safe shelter and meets the basic needs of the most vulnerable homeless. Founded in 1983, Austin Street Center is the largest low barrier shelter in Dallas that serves men, ages 45 and older, and women, ages 18 and older. Each person who finds shelter with Austin Street Center is provided a safe place to sleep, showers, clothing, and meals. More than just a meal and a bed, the Austin Street individualized model of service attempts to treat the whole individual through a comprehensive program that includes: housing coordination and stabilization services; employment and education resources; benefits and ID assistance; mental health services on-site; spiritual, emotional, and addiction support; diversion; transportation; and more. Austin Street Center’s goal is to help clients transition from homelessness to independence. #HelpThemHome
FBCR community garden has 24 raised garden plots, with 14 that are available for renting for growing your own produce. The other 10 plots are managed by volunteers and the harvest is given to local Richardson families in need through our hunger initiative partnerships. The garden also offers free quarterly gardening classes and has workdays on the third Saturday of the month at 9AM. For information, email [email protected]
CHURCH UNDER THE TREES
This outreach to homeless neighbors in Plano meets weekly at Haggard Park beginning with lunch at 1:30PM on Sundays. Come join us in providing a much needed meal, friendship and a Gospel message with these neighbors.
FOOD FOR THE CITIES
On the fourth Sunday of each month, this is a great opportunity for us to bless families at Willow Springs Community with needed pantry items and food supplies. We would love to expand into additional communities but need your help to do so, especially if you are a Spanish speaker.
FOOD FOR FAMILIES
On the second Saturday of each month, our Food for Families team picks ups food from Crossroads Community Services, sorts it on church campus, and receives families struggling with hunger needs as they pick up their personalized, nutritionally balanced, food. Normally, we provide 7 days of food for every month.
No matter the status or stature in life, only one out of every 20 people who live in an apartment community have ever heard the saving Gospel of Jesus! Join us in ways to care for our neighbors in these communities and share the Good News with them in a variety of ways!
A creative way to recycle plastic bags and make sleepmats for our homeless neighbors while joining a great group of prayer warriors in blessing some of the least of these. Join these ladies on Fridays to continue the process or find out what you can do at home that will help them simplify their process and be of value to others.
Stichers and Sewing gurus unite in this monthly activity to create items to comfort and encourage those who are in the hospital and need something to bring them a smile. Come join in the fun as we brighten the day of someone else!
SNACK SACKS FOR THE HOMELESS
Join the Bridge Builders in supplying a snack for our homeless friends who visit us on a weekly basis. Approximately once each month these sacks are packaged and prepared so they are ready when needed.
This ESL program has been going strong for 50 years and provides an opportunity for immigrants in our area to learn and develop their English skills while hearing about Jesus in a morning session. This group meets each Wednesday starting at 9AM.
ANGEL TREE (CHRISTMAS SEASON)
Join us in bringing Christmas joy to families walking through a challenging season of life. Through this unique ministry we bless the families of prisoners while they are not able to be present with those who love them most.
BACKPACK BASH (BACK TO SCHOOL)
This experience provides both an opportunity to bless others and to be blessed by them as well. We gather supplies and then gather together to get them into the hands of those who need them the most. We will fill and hand out backpacks as well as provide haircuts and some laughter along the way.
