Alzheimer’s, Dementia and Parkinson’s Seminar
TUESDAY, OCTOBER 24, 6PM IN FELLOWSHIP HALL
The Senior Adult Ministry’s seminar will be preceded by a FREE dinner (reservations required no later than Monday, October 16 to Beth Grafton) at 972-235-5296, ext. 119. Dinner will be provided by Atria Canyon Creek beginning at 6 pm in Fellowship Hall. This seminar is for Adults, Senior Adults and their Adult Children.
Two breakout sessions are available to choose from starting at 6:45 pm.
One session will cover Alzheimers/Dementia. The presenter will provide an overview of the disease, symptoms, treatment and progression of the disease, research that is being conducted and information beneficial to the caregiver. The other session will cover Parkinson’s Disease. It will be presented by a highly respected professor of Neurology and Neurotherapuetics at UT Southwestern with a specialty in movement disorders.
After a short break, we will all come together for a panel discussion by representatives from local facilities who have special facilities for Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s patient care, including full time health care and adult day care.
