As you know our community has been devastated by several tornadoes that ripped through the area on Sunday. Some of our members have been hit. We are working to help them and others. Our mission’s ministry was quick to respond, and we have fed hundreds of people this week, as well as helping several families with clearing debris and waterproofing their homes. We have received many phone calls from people who are both needing help and wanting to help. I want to share the following ways you can give and/or volunteer.
Texas Baptist Men – You can give here or volunteer to help where needed. Meet Pastor Ron at the FBCR Activities Center at 7am any day next week and we’ll get you on a crew.
The Network – You can give here to this local ministry that our church helped to start years ago. They are struggling to meet the large influx of needs that are being funneled to them.
Gift Cards – You can bring gift cards from Tom Thumb, Wal-Mart, and/or Target (in amounts anywhere from $25-$50) to church this Sunday. We will have a table set up in the Lobby to receive your gift cards.
FBCR Disaster Relief fund – We have set up a special fund for the work our church is doing during this crisis and any others that might come. You can give here. These funds will be utilized as needed for gift cards, temporary lodging for displaced families, and more. First Baptist is also directly involved in providing volunteers in a variety of areas, serving as the host site for Texas Baptist Men Disaster Relief.
PRAY! – You can join us in prayer for all the families that have been impacted. Thank you for being the hands and feet of Jesus!
